    Abstract: 液晶材料在顯示器及各類光學元件上已有廣泛的應用,而要將液晶應用到微秒級快速光學元件上,最直接的方法就是使用鐵電性液晶。若要進一步改善鐵電性液晶的電光特性,則可藉由摻雜奈米材料達成目的。奈米材料具備了本質耦極矩及非線性導電特性,材料、形狀與尺寸多元化,材料表面可改質,以及摻雜濃度可調控等優點,能夠成功調整液晶特性。本計畫探討了摻雜奈米材料的向列型液晶及鐵電性液晶之電光特性,針對奈米材料之摻雜濃度,材料形狀,以及表面特性這三個因素,定性觀察了在外加電場ON 及OFF 切換過程中液晶的電光特性,反應速度及對比度的動態變化。
